I foraged on the internet this morning for a halfway decent woodland camouflage background for the blog, given all of the Cold War posts I've been making lately. I think we have a winner!
Brings me back to my college and platoon leader days...where did the time go? The US Army has gone through 2 camouflage changes since!
Nice change up to go with your modern gaming of late, but I must admit that I liked the old oak leaf pattern!
ReplyDeletePaul,
DeleteThe Oak Leaf did have a certain charm to it! I like to switch these alot so as soon as I get back to more WW2 stuff, I will throw it up there!
i had this as my yahoo wallpaper
ReplyDeleteIt works I think!
DeleteAh! The good ol' days of woodland pattern BDUs! :-)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering when you'd chime in David :) When thinking about the Cold War, many people tend to think about main battle tanks or helicopters.
DeleteMy thoughts always turn to ripstop or winter-weight woodland camouflage uniforms :) heavily starched and pressed so many times that any tactical advantage they were supposed to convey would have been long gone :) with the name-tapes faded to almost white!!
